I created these pages for Mad Cave’s 7th Annual Talent Search, where I finished in the top five percent. I wanted to cram as much story as I could in the four pages, which is why there are seven panels on almost every page. I achieved the rain effect by cutting through the solid blacks with white ink. Balancing the black and white values created texture and added depth to the scene. I thought I achieved this technique most effectively in the last panel.
